This edition will start with the renowned Dr. Souhel Najjar’s Opening Lecture | Autoimmune Encephalitis and the Concept of “Autoimmune Psychosis”: It’s All One Brain. Known as the brilliant doctor to find the link between the immune system and the central nervous system, Dr. Najjar is the Founding Director of the Autoimmune Brain Disorder and Autoimmune Encephalitis Center at Lenox Hill Hospital. He will walk us through the intricate concept of the “Autoimmune Psychosis”, where autoimmune diseases meet the neuropsychiatric ones. He will highlight the considerable challenges inherent to the diagnosis and management of individuals with new-onset psychiatric illness of possible immune origin.
